Born in Kiel, Germany, and transplanted to the west coast of Canada at a young age, Finn has spent his life exploring coastal waterways and mountains by kayak, ski, and foot. In 2017, he became the youngest person to paddle the 1,600 kilometers around Vancouver Island solo at the age of seventeen. He has since built a career as an expedition photographer and sea kayak guide. Finn has led expeditions from the Norwegian high arctic to New Zealand, Morocco, Patagonia, and Antarctica in search of wildlife and the world's truly wild spaces. 

Finn's flashy paddling and flamboyant love of birds, combined with an infectious laugh, never-ending creativity, and penchant for breaking boats make him a recognizable, fun, and memorable member of any expedition.

Born and raised in rural Southern Alberta, Rina has always had a love of nature, animals, and an unquenchable thirst for adventure. After moving to British Columbia, she fell in love with the ocean and has since become a true west coaster; learning to filet fish, forage for mushrooms, build a fire in a torrential downpour, and stern a canoe alongside the best of them. Her love of invertebrates and amphibians invites everyone to slow down, look a little closer, and enjoy both the small and big things in life and on trip.

Megan was born and raised in Edmonton Alberta and moved to Vancouver Island to be closer to the ocean and the iconic wildlife that call the west coast home. She is always looking to plan her next adventure, whether that is hiking through dense old growth forests, camping along remote beaches, fishing from her canoe, or snorkeling the beautiful rivers and kelp forests of the west coast. For three summers, she worked as a tree planter in northern Alberta and BC and learned to appreciate the small joys in life while living out of a backpack and navigating the highs and lows of working in commercial reforestation. She is passionate about the protection of wildlife and preservation of the natural environment, and in 2023 she completed her Bachelor of Natural Resource Protection degree at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo BC.   

In the summer of 2023, she and her partner Kyle explored the southern hemisphere for four months and backpacked across South Africa and Madagascar. There they volunteered with African penguin rehabilitation and tropical agroforestry. Now she is excited to embark on a canoe expedition, this time in the far northern hemisphere and see remote stretches of the Yukon and Alaska that many people do not have the opportunity to visit or discover.

Nathan hails from North Vancouver in Squamish, Musqueam, and Tsleil-Waututh Nation territory. For as long as he can remember, he’s been drawn to adventure - first to the end of the neighborhood, then into the North Shore mountains, and finally out onto the Salish Sea and beyond. He completed a Certificate of Wilderness Leadership from Capilano University in 2015 and has been working as an outdoor educator ever since. He spends most of his time working with youth in the outdoors and teaching guide training courses.

In the spring of 2019, Nathan embarked on his first ‘big’ personal expedition - around Vancouver Island in sea kayaks. Then, in 2023, he set out to paddle to Alaska with his high school friend Sanesh Iyer. Now he's hooked and is stoked to switch to canoeing for the 2024 paddle down the Yukon River.
