About the event
Join me (Nathan Slater) for an evening of storytelling, reflection, and exploration of the formative experiences of growing up on British Columbia’s wild and beautiful coast. A reflective and heartfelt look at my coming of age—through salt spray, cedar forests, ocean swells, and star-filled nights beside campfires.
Solo paddles in rough waters, backcountry trips with youth, and the quiet moments of clarity that only time in nature can bring. This is a story about more than adventure. It’s about the way wild places shape character, build resilience, and teach responsibility. You’ll hear about the challenges of leading in unpredictable environments, the humour and humility found in the outdoors, and the deep gratitude that comes from growing up close to the land.
Come connect with the spirit of the BC coast and remember the power of wild places in shaping who we are.
